24 people did and the result is an ad that might make you reach for the Kleenex.
The job entails 24/7 commitment, unlimited hours per week, increased output around the holidays, and degrees in medicine, finance, and culinary arts. And oh yeah, no pay. This is part of the job description ad agency Mullen created for a position they entitled “Director of Operations” of a company called Rehtom Inc. Though the ad received 2.7 million impressions from paid ad placements, only 24 people applied (and even that seems miraculous). The interviews were done via webcam and the candidates’ reactions are pretty predictable: incredulity, questions about legality, and a whole lot of side eye. Of course, the reveal comes at the end and yes, it’s an ad, but one with a truly feel-good outcome.
