Total Betty: Last Night’s ‘Masters of Sex’ Episode in GIFs

Forget Ulysses, this week’s star was Betty DiMello, the sassiest research subject du jour.

We urgently need your help.  DAME reports the stories that need to be told, from perspectives that aren’t heard enough. In times of crisis it is even more critical that these voices are not overlooked, but COVID-19 has impacted our ability to keep publishing. We met Betty DiMello in the first scene of the Masters of Sex premiere as a subject of Dr. Masters’ observational study. But we fell in love with the sardonic lesbian-hooker-secretary played by Annaleigh Ashford, when she delivered the best line of the episode. After being cluelessly asked by Masters if faking orgasms is common practice amongst prostitutes, she replied: “It’s a common practice amongst anyone with a twat.” Ashford’s not mentioned in the show’s credits so perhaps DiMello won’t be back for later episodes, but she clearly took center stage this week. Here’s why we love her.

Even when she gets a legitimate job she won’t deny us that amazing shade only an experienced hooker can master.

,

She can read men like a classified ad.

,

She won’t take it lying down.

,

She’s doing it all for love, for the love of—spoiler alert!—a man. But not just any man…
