Makeup primers could easily be the most underestimated step in putting on your face. Most foundations can mask discoloration, but when it comes to disguising texture (pores, fine lines and wrinkles, dry flakey skin, or even acne), we need a little extra help. This is where a makeup primer saves the day.
For fine lines and dry spots try a product which will prevent water loss and smooth out texture.
When combating oily skin and/or acne-prone skin, select a product that smoothes and soothes, but doesn’t add any extra oil.
Go to your local make-up counter and ask for samples. The trick with primers…finding out first hand how they wear throughout the day. All face products have the propensity to react to your own personal chemistry. As a result, you should ask to try it out first hand. Some favorites to look into: Laura Mercier, Lise Watier, Make-Under, Classified Cosmetics, NARS and Cover FX.
