The hand-knit couture bikinis in Ashley Paige’s popular Los Angeles boutique retail for a minimum of $350 and are worn by women who look “killer from head to toe,” according to the designer.
There is one tidbit that didn’t make last week’s gossip mag about the Florida native’s store in the heart of Hollywood: it doubles as an independently run pet adoption stop every Sunday and already boasts an impressive celebrity clientele including Justin Chambers from
Grey’s Anatomy and actress Maggie Gyllenhaal and yes, we’re name-dropping. Paige rescues dogs on a weekly basis from pounds in Los Angeles and welcomes them into her swimwear mecca on Sundays and into her home almost constantly (at the moment she’s housing three dogs and three cats).

Additionally, Paige recently established “Ruff Hozen Rescue” which is a non-profit pet adoption agency allowing her to accomplish her mission as a designer—mixing high fashion with animal rescue. If that isn’t pet-lover-esque enough for you, Paige also donates five percent of the profits from her beachy and breathtaking line to rescuing animals and paying for their medical bills and pound fees. An animal lover since childhood, it has always been crucial for Paige to use her success as a designer to aide animals in need whenever possible.
Hard at work these days on her upcoming Cruise & Summer 2008 collection, which incidentally she hints has “a very ‘70s vibe because I’m a total vintage girl,” Paige is equally devoted to further development of her new non-profit. If your wallet is a bit lighter than usual after a summer of après work mojitos and expensive pedicures, check for her upcoming lyrca bikini line which will offer contemporary prices beginning at around $125 for an entire suit available at her Hollywood boutique, Saks Fifth Avenue Beverly Hills, Jigsaw, and Crush in Malibu. It appears this swimwear connoisseur has enchanted bathing beauties worldwide with her designs while simultaneously acting as a local hero to the abandoned and unwanted pets of Los Angeles.
