Women in Binders Now Find Themselves in Memes

The Mitt Romney "Women in Binders" meme took off last night before last night's debate stumbled to its awkward conclusion. An entire Facebook account and Tumblr page are dedicated to his gaffe. Instantly, an online binder full of memes, if you will. There’s a ‘Hey Girl’ binder meme with The Gos, a Hillary binder meme, even Beyonce got in on the three-ring - er,um - circus.
Romney was referring to his quest for hiring more women for his Cabinet while governor of Massachusetts when he said, “I went to a number of women’s groups and said, ‘Can you help us find folks?’ And they brought us whole binders full of women.” The remark was swept up by social media and parodied within mere moments of it leaving his lips.
It used to be you would have to wait a day or an hour before being ridiculed for a mindless comment, insult, or parsed phrased you uttered. Now with the internet’s lightning speed you have successfully being parodied, disavowed, and essentially “pants-ed” before you can even take your next breath. Just be relieved that we aren’t doing something serious like electing the next president.
