Elton John Calls Madonna 'Fairground Stripper'

The bitch is back! (This is the legally required sub-headline for all Elton John-Madonna feud stories.)

The Elton John-Madonna feud would probably be more entertaining if it was 1983. Still, it's always fun to watch divas fight, and this feud, for impartial observers not in the Sir Elton or Madge camp, has been fun to watch.

In the latest twist Elton John appeared on Australia's Channel 7 program Sunday Night and declared that Madonna's career was "over." We're not sure what qualifies as over, but flashing the audience and picking public fights with celebrities are drastic ways to draw attention to your music. You never saw this type of thing when, say, Hootie and the Blowfish was at the top of its game. The music usually speaks for the artist.

"Her tour is a disaster and it couldn't happen to a bigger c---," John said, later adding, "she looks like a f---ing fairground stripper."

Great insult, but...

Is this a thing? Are there fairground strippers? A quick Google search revealed this image, found here, from 1960s Britain:

For shame, Sir Elton. This was a mean and totally out-of-bounds comment.

To fairground strippers.
