Three Boyfriends Took Bullets for Their Girlfriends in Aurora Theater Shooting

Three heroic men died saving their girlfriends during the Colorado movie-theater massacre.  Jon Blunk (pictured above), Matt McQuinn and Alex Teves shielded their girlfriends from accused maniac James Holmes. The women suffered minor wounds.

Blunk pinned his girlfriend Jansen Young to the ground and shielded her with his 6-2 frame. Young told the New York Daily News, "He’s a hero, and he’ll never be forgotten. Jon took a bullet for me.” Said Young's mother, “He was loving, the kind of guy you want your daughter to be with, and ultimately, she’s alive because of this, because he protected her."

Alex Teves also died after he pushed his girlfriend, Amanda Lindgren, to the floor to shield her. She was hit by a bullet.

Samantha Yowler was protected by her boyfriend Matt McQuinn. She took a gunshot wound to the knee and is in fair condition after undergoing surgery. Yowler's brother Nick helped her get out of the theater.

James Holmes should not be the only name we remember from last week's tragic shooting.

Let's be thankful the world produces heroic men like Jon Blunk, Matt McQuinn and Alex Teves.
